Careers at Beech Creek Gardens

Executive Director

At the end of 2024, Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve’s long-time Executive Director and co-founder, Melinda Carmichael, will retire.

She will leave a legacy that began formally in 1999, when she and co-founder, Paul Carmichael gathered like-minded community members together to share their vision of creating a place where young and old could be exposed to the wonders of nature, to learn, and to be inspired.

Melinda has dedicated long hours and an expanding knowledge base to BCBG’s growth and evolving mission. Evidence of her vision is everywhere on this nonprofit organization’s 181 acres.

Under her stewardship, Beech Creek Gardens has flourished into a sanctuary that not only preserves the beauty of nature but also educates and inspires those who walk its paths. Her passion for conservation has sown seeds that will grow for generations to come.

We are fortunate that there is a solid foundation on which to build, and we look forward with optimism to a new era for Beech Creek Gardens. We are excited to continue the mission with the same integrity, respect, and passion that Melinda has instilled in our core.
