Chrysalis Box Care Information
Thank you for purchasing a Chrysalis box!
- Keep out of direct sunlight.
- Keep the box in an area that doesn’t allow for excess humidity.
- Make sure to keep the box away from air conditioning vents.
- The chrysalis will darken/the wings will become visible about 1-3 days before it will hatch, so be sure to check it often.
-The liquid that the butterfly expels when it has hatched is called meconium; it is excess from expanding its wings. It’s completely natural and OK.
-Let the butterfly’s wings dry completely (2-4 hours) before you release it.
- If your butterfly doesn’t emerge, bring us the box and chrysalis and a new one can be picked up - free of charge.
-If the chrysalis falls from where it’s attached, leave it be; the butterfly should crawl up the wire to dry. If it doesn’t, or the wings dry damaged, or defective, bring us the box and butterfly and a new one can be picked up – free of charge.
